Join us to improve responses to domestic and sexual abuse in Leicester.
The Domestic and Sexual Violence team is a small and dedicated team working across a range of key areas to reduce the prevalence and harms of domestic and sexual abuse. We play a key role in the Leicester Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation Strategy.
This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week, for 18 months, which might be extended dependent on funding. Working remotely, you’ll on occasion work from the office or other locations and be required to travel across the city.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead on the development of city-wide initiatives, policies, and action plans to improve the accessibility and sustainability of safe accommodation and safe accommodation related support. Working with partner agencies and colleagues, providers, and victim-survivors, you’ll gain an understanding of the strengths and opportunities for improvement locally and take a lead role in responding to those needs. You will support the local partnership structure at both operational and strategic level, lead on key projects and support the wider work of the team.
What you’ll need
With experience of project management, and problem solving, you’ll have extensive knowledge of related issues. You’ll effectively engage with partners, encourage open discussion and debate to work through and shape up ideas and equally importantly distil them to clear measurable actions which have an impact. You’ll be comfortable with complex and sensitive subject areas, risk management and using multiple data sets to understand, test and explore pathways. Passionate about reducing domestic and sexual abuse and inequality, you’ll work well independently and with people, be creative, diligent, and well organised to thrive in this role.
What we can offer you
As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve thousands of lives across Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance. You’ll enjoy generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and the option of flexible working. We’ll also give you the chance to develop your skills and expertise with a variety of training and development opportunities.
