Full Time/ 37 Hours Per Week / Fixed Term for 18 months
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Admin and Business Support Apprentice to join Children’s Service and be a part of our ever-improving service ensuring children are at the heart of our work.
Children’s Services play a key role in improving life for families and children. The various teams across the service are dedicated to children’s social care, learning and inclusion support and providing special educational needs, to support the most vulnerable people in Leicester.
Working in a friendly and welcoming team you’ll provide administrative support to the service which includes front of house, telephone, IT, financial and other clerical duties. You’ll also undertake a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business and Administration, where you’ll be provided with relevant one to one support and training to ensure you have a positive experience and achieve your full potential. With an enthusiastic attitude, a passion for learning and a willingness to adapt, you’ll be fully committed to coming on this learning journey with us.
Based initially at Halford House (City Centre) however you’ll have the opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of areas learning new skills along the way. This is a fixed term position for 18 months on a full-time contract. Core working hours will be 8.30am-5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am-4.30pm on a Friday however, flexi working is applicable.
What you’ll be doing
As a customer-focussed Admin and Business Support Apprentice, you’ll ensure the service runs smoothly by responding to face-to-face enquiries, answering the telephone, responding to emails; resolving enquires in an efficient way. You’ll be responsible for maintaining filing systems, supporting meetings, and ensure that all records are up-to-date and remain confidential.
What you'll need
You’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to effectively liaise with colleagues as well as provide excellent customer service when resolving enquires from both internal and external customers. You’ll be able to use your organisation skills and your own initiative to work effectively within a fast-paced environment; ensuring all enquiries are dealt with thoroughly. Using strong IT skills and great attention to detail, you’ll be able to carry out general administrative tasks and ensure all records are maintained accurately.
