To help deliver our vision we are looking for Social Workers who are enthusiastic, passionate and have a strong track record of working with children, young people and their families to achieve positive outcomes. Join one of our Children's Social Care teams and you will play a key role in improving the life for families and children in Leicester.
We use Signs of Safety as a model of intervention to support sound social work practice and our work is underpinned by the principles of trauma informed practice and the Lundy model of Participation. As an authority we are committed to addressing racial injustice both for the families we work with and across the workforce.
Ofsted recognised that our social workers are well supported by their managers, with good quality in-depth supervision and manageable case loads. These are full-time positions with core working hours of 8.30am till 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am till 4.30pm on Friday. We also welcome applications from those looking for part time hours.
What you’ll be doing
As a Social Worker, you’ll be required to undertake statutory social work in partnership with families, other agencies and colleagues across the council. You’ll responsible for efficient caseload management and work in accordance with the Division's child care policies and relevant child care legislation.
What you’ll need
As a Social Worker, you’ll have a qualification in one of the following: Degree or Masters in Social Work, Post Graduate Diploma or Diploma in Social Work and be registered with Social Work England. With experience of front-line Social Worker practice, you’ll also have experience of working with vulnerable children with complex needs. You’ll have an ability to manage a caseload and make sound decisions as well as have knowledge of relevant legislation and an ability to apply that knowledge in a practice setting.
