Are you highly organised with experience of dealing with the recently bereaved? Do you have an investigative mind to process sudden deaths?
If so, this is the job for you. We are looking to appoint coroner’s officers to support families during one of the most difficult moments in their lives. You’ll join a team of 10, not including the team of Coroner’s, and join a very busy office still dealing with a backlog of investigations due to the pandemic and be part of exciting changes coming due to service expansion.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll ensure that all deaths are reported to H M Coroner in accordance with the Coroner’s Act
and ensure the accurate recording of information relating to any sudden death within the jurisdiction. You’ll also liaise with stakeholders to ensure that all necessary reports are obtained under the Coroner’s Act.
Records of all investigations must be accurate, and you’ll be integral to allowing the timely release of bodies. Additionally, you’ll also ensure the reporting of all treasure trove within the jurisdiction.
What You’ll Need
You’ll have experience of working in an environment where sudden deaths are investigated with some knowledge of Coroner’s Act, Coroner’s Rules, Tissue Act and Registration Acts sufficient to provide information and guidance to the bereaved, medical professionals and other relevant persons. You’ll also possess skills to solve problems including being presented with conflicting information during an investigation.
