Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Fixed Term For 12 Months Due To Funding
Contact and Response is the first point of social work contact for people aged 18 and above who are not currently involved with adult social care and may be approaching us for the first time. You will be part of a small group of Team Leaders leading this short-term focused team to have initial conversations to give information and advice, arrange short term support where needed and also provide a Social Work response to safeguarding adult enquiries.
We use a strengths based approach, seeing people as individuals with unique strengths, abilities, aspirations and requirements. As a Team Leader you will receive good professional support and learning and development opportunities to ensure the needs of those who draw upon our support are met.
The team has an office base at Beaumont Way Office where you can work when required but also have the ability to work from home. Core working hours are 8.30am-5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am-4.30pm on a Friday.
What you’ll be doing
You will be part of a Team that works alongside people who make contact with us; ensuring that we focus on things that matter to them, explore solutions that provide purpose, meaning and connection in people’s lives; supporting staff to solve problems and developing a culture that values kindness and fairness as well as process and procedures. You’ll also be working positively with partners who are key to helping people live good lives; our colleagues in Housing and community health partners for example.
You will manage a staff group including qualified Social Workers and Social Care Practitioners, supporting them to do their jobs with confidence.
What you’ll need
Substantial social work experience including previous experience operating as a level 3 social worker, or relevant social work management experience. You will hold a Dip SW or CQSW or CSS and be registered with Social Work England.
You will need to demonstrate experience of leading formal safeguarding adult enquiries.
Experience of managing people and applying HR procedures. You’ll need the ability to develop staff effectively to get the best from your team. You’ll be a good communicator, being able to present clear and convincing arguments, both in person and in the form of written reports. Confronting challenges, balancing risk and making sound decisions. You also need the ability to understand key performance and financial information.
What we can offer you
As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve thousands of lives across Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance. You’ll enjoy generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and the option of flexible working. We’ll also give you the chance to develop your skills and expertise with a variety of training and development opportunities. In addition, you can choose from a number of flexible benefits, including childcare vouchers, discounts on city buses and trains and help with relocation to Leicester, where appropriate.
