Full Time/ 37 Hours Per Week / Fixed Term for 18 months
Join our friendly, welcoming, and diverse team to provide administrative support and services to several teams within the Neighbourhood and Environmental Services division.
Based at City Hall, your career and personal development will be encourage and nurtured through training opportunities and coaching/mentoring from our experienced members of staff. You’ll have the opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of areas through shadowing.
The teams you’ll be working with are composed of 9 teams in total including Environmental Health teams, City Wardens, Pest Control and Trading Standards amongst others.
This is a full-time, fixed term post working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday (for 18 months). Core working hours will be 8.30am-5.00pm Monday to Friday with an hour lunch break. However, here at LCC we offer flexible and agile working to promote a healthy/work-life balance so starting and finishing times can work to accommodate yourself.
As a career graded post (NMW – LG Band 5). Dependent on availability of work/vacancy at a higher level, progress will be based on successful completion of Level 3 qualification in Business and Admin satisfactory performance, agreed at annual Appraisals and through on-going supervision.
What you’ll be doing
The Service Support & Intelligence Team provides high quality support to the officers, managers, and heads of service within the various teams of Regulatory Services and Standards & Development. Not one day will be the same in this varied role. You’ll be expected to deliver activities including but not limited to the following:
What you'll need
As an excellent communicator with the interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with colleagues, as well as internal and external customers. Your experience, whether this be in a paid, voluntary or work experience capacity, will have taught you many things in good customer services and the importance of time management/organisation meaning you can use your own initiative in order to meet the volume and variety of work you are expected to deliver on a day-to-day basis. In addition, you’ll showcase skills in paying great attention to detail to ensure accuracy in producing legal document and financial records. With strong IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft office applications you’ll be competent in using Outlook, Office, and Excel. As an individual who is keen to learn, grown and develop in a fast-paced environment you’ll show willingness and flexibility.
