Join our dynamic and vibrant Brokerage Taxi Service to co-ordinate transport services; being primarily responsible for the daily running, monitoring & changes to the service. Working in a fast-paced environment with a positive outlook you’ll be helping vulnerable children and adults across Leicester.
This is a full time, permanent position working 37 hours a week, based at Halford House. Staff work alternating on a shift pattern that can be discussed at interview.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be responsible for the daily running, monitoring and changes of the transport and your work will enable some of the most vulnerable in the city to access education and the community. With your great professional telephone manner, you’ll liaise with internal, external suppliers, schools, day centres, person in need, carers, families, and specialist schools, ensuring service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments.
Utilising your good customer service skills, you’ll take bookings, handle queries from providers or person/families/carers and deal with all in an equal, professional, and tactful manner. With competent decision making and proficient IT skills you’ll have expertise in MS Excel to fill and maintain an accurate record of the journeys you have arranged. On occasions, you’ll have the opportunity to actively investigate complaints and write up responses and reports. Using your own judgement and experience to escalate when needed to Seniors or other internal agents. When registering a new person, you’ll ensure they meet the pre-set agreed criteria and handle necessary administrative tasks as well as prepare, collate, and distribute information to relevant stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
There will be an opportunity to work both independently and as part of a team, to ensure that transport services are carried out to the correct times and standards. You’ll be customer focused, to tactfully liaise with internal and external clients, to ensure smooth running of the service, whilst having excellent IT skills to update databases whilst always maintaining confidentiality and data protection.
