Then this would be a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Procurement Officer in a team responsible for the procurement of Adult Social Care and Public Health services.
You’ll be involved in supporting and/or managing procurement projects for Adult Social Care and Public Health that are good quality, value for money and achieve positive outcomes for people accessing support and/or their carers.
You’ll be based at one of our council office buildings in the City. However, until a safe return to offices is agreed, you’ll be required to work remotely at home.
This role is subject to a Standard DBS check.
What you'll be doing
Working as part of the Adult Social Care and Public Health Procurement Team, you will support the procurement of complex high value/risk services and undertake, or be involved in managing, lower value/risk procurement projects.
This will include liaising with Commissioners, to consider procurement strategies/approaches. You will support and undertake market engagement and stimulation. You will plan the procurement process, prepare tender documentation including analysis and design of complex evaluation schemes and spreadsheets. You will advertise the tender using electronic tendering systems. evaluate submissions, whilst conducting clarifications and negotiations. You will draft correspondence, debrief unsuccessful bidders, and agree contract documentation and prepare tender evaluations reports.
What you’ll need
You will have experience and knowledge of procurement, tendering and contract management processes as well as applying risk management techniques.
Using analytical skills and ensuring attention to detail and your ability to compile, produce, statistical/technical reports, spreadsheets (and other documentation), you will summarise and present information to management.
You’ll need to be confident using IT, and particularly a proficient user of Excel, with the ability to use formulas in the tender evaluation process, and format the data in a presentable way.
