This is an exciting time to join the Housing Solutions team as a Housing Registration Officer in our Homelessness, Prevention & Support division. We are looking to recruit staff who have excellent customer services skills and are solution focussed. This role provides primarily administrative support and advice for those on the housing register.
In this role you’ll maintain an excellent understanding of the Housing Allocations Policy and related legislation, procedures and processes, equivalent to specialist knowledge, including subtle exceptions. You’ll accurately apply a large and intricate policy to applications and change requests received from customers, in order to ensure that applications are appropriately prioritised, and screened for the correct type, size, and other characteristics.
You’ll also contribute to identifying process improvements, and customer journey improvements.
What you'll be doing
You’ll be processing applications and change requests and also be an advisory on policies and procedures and also provide expert advice to all parties including housing applicants, local councillors & MP’s, other officers within homelessness and also other voluntary, charitable, faith and independent organisations working with persons with housing issues, and other council services relating to housing registration matters.
You’ll also process any urgent requests and seek resolutions to any complex queries.
What you'll need
The ideal candidate will have excellent personal and interpersonal skills and solution focussed. You’ll be able to compose own correspondence and communicate matters sensitively and clearly You’ll have a high level of communication skills sufficient to explain complex matters both verbally and in writing and have a good working knowledge of IT systems.
