Can you lead Leicester forward to deliver our ambition to be a carbon neutral city by 2030? We are looking to appoint a dedicated, innovative manager to lead Leicester City Council’s work on responding to the Climate emergency. As service manager you will lead a highly experienced team of dedicated professionals to drive forward our work on our Climate strategy and action plan; creating and realising key projects to deliver carbon reduction and address climate change adaptation.
We are looking for a committed, outstanding individual who can deliver the strategy and make a real contribution to working with stakeholders within the city council and with external partners to deliver the change required to meet our carbon neutral ambition.
The role
With your primary aim to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the council’s Climate Strategy and climate emergency action plan across the Council.
You will work with both internal and external partners to develop programmes for LCC and city to address both climate mitigation and adaptation.
You will work closely with your team to prioritise key tasks for team members whilst ensuring they have sufficient resources and support to operate effectively. Whilst proactively ensuring that the necessary organisational and cultural development and needs of the division are achieved to ensure success.
What you’ll need
You will have significant experience energy environment and sustainable development.. With excellent project management skills you will use your knowledge and experience of organisational change including the principles and practice of change management processes to achieve your aims. You will have Significant experience of working at an operational level supporting senior managers in a multi-agency environment and experience of managing and developing a team of staff.
