Join us to lead our Family Learning programme. As a confident and experienced leader, you will oversee the development of a curriculum which meets the needs of learners, ensuring quality and compliance in accordance with Service and Awarding Body requirements. Based in the Skills for Work team and working closely with key stakeholders and partners, you will ensure that all learning meets strategic priorities and quality standards.
Based at the Adult Education College, you will be required to visit settings across the city. This is a full-time, permanent post working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday including evenings and on occasions some weekends.
What you will be doing
You will lead a team of tutors, lead tutors and programme leaders in the delivery of a high quality, city wide service. You will ensure strategies to improve learner retention, achievement, and progression are in place and an ethos of continuous improvement is adopted by the team to work towards the service aspiration for becoming an outstanding learning provider. With a modern and inspirational approach to teaching, learning and assessment and a good understanding of ILT in the classroom and creative learning resources, you will develop and implement a broad and balanced curriculum with progression routes for learners and employers. You will have an understanding and appreciation of the development, delivery, and promotion of online learning.
What you will need
With previous experience of teaching adults in a relevant subject area, modelling excellent practice and with a demonstrable record of innovation, you will be a qualified teacher at level 5 as well as have a relevant subject qualification at degree level or above. You will have experience of observation of teaching, learning and assessment practice. Using excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, you will be able to engage a variety of audiences and lead your team to achieve positive results. With proficient writing and data analysis skills, you will be able to produce clear and concise reports and records.
