Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Fixed Term for 6 Months
Play a key role in keeping the people and vehicles of Leicester City legal and safe. Join a small, dedicated team of 8 to provide safe and correct types of transport for our department teams.
This is a full time, fixed term position working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday (for 6 months). You’ll be based at 86 Leycroft Road.
What you’ll be doing
Your main responsible will be to embrace the role of “Super user” on the Councils fleet management IT system, vehicle tracker IT system, Fuel Provision and allocation IT system. You’ll also manage the Councils interaction on fleet specific external web-based systems such as, DVSA, and DFT. Your day-to-day activities will include, but not be limited to, developing, and improving systems for the collection of all data pertaining to vehicle and plant purchase, repair, maintenance and disposal. In addition, you’ll process vehicle accident reports, authorisation of repairs and oversee incoming fixed penalty notices.
Working within a varied team of people from various backgrounds, you’ll manage and produce Section 19 bus permits for the Council. You’ll also generate and distribute vehicle/plant preventative maintenance scheduling/service programming with weekly updates and adjustments, including MOT, LOLER and PUWER.
What you’ll need
As a motivated forward thinking person who looks at why we do things and asks questions, you’ll use your own experiences to encourage change in the department. You’ll utilise your good written and oral communication skills to communicate confidently with conviction. In addition, you’ll need to understand vehicles and servicing schedules, be very competent on EXCEL and other Microsoft applications.
Due to the nature of this role, you’ll be subject to a Class B Driving License.
