Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent
Play a key role in working together to deliver maintenance and improvement projects to housing owned properties within the city of Leicester.
You will be part of an established professional Building and Services Team consisting of Technical Officers that prides itself in working together delivering all aspects of building and services related cyclical maintenance, including improvement schemes to ensure that our tenants have a safe, warm and decent home.
Primarily, you’ll be based at our Mowmacre Housing Office however you’ll be required to travel across the city to undertake site visits as necessary and when required represent the department at various meetings as part of your duties.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be mainly focused on all aspects of HVAC activities for domestic and commercial system installations, this will include the design/specification and procurement solution. Providing guidance and assistance with technical matters within the Buildings and Services Team and work closely with the partnering Quality Assurance Team.
With your excellent communication skills, you’ll be liaising and working with other associated members within the authority such as; Tenancy Management Officers, the Direct Services Organisation and an appointed Energy Services Company who are responsible for generating the heat that serves our District Heating Local Networks.
The role is extremely rewarding and you’ll have the opportunity to make that vital difference and ensure that our service users, some of whom may be vulnerable have a reliable uncompromised service provision all year round. No two days will be the same, there will always be emergency operational situations with the service delivery that will take precedence and require immediate attention.
What you’ll need
You will need to be a proven Technician within the HVAC industry with a track record for overseeing consultants, contractors and employees undertaking cyclical, remedial, reactive works and ensuring that they are providing a quality, effective and value for money service.
You'll be able to provide high quality professional scheme design, drawing production and development of maintenance protocols.
You’ll use your experience of working with a wide range of people at a variety of levels, including tenants and their representatives, managers and local councillors.
As a HVAC Technician, you will have a degree, HND, HNC, ONC in an engineering related subject as the basis for the post or equivalent experience and must have a current driving license. Must be willing to work in excess of contracted hours when necessary, including an element of unsociable hours.
