Play a key role in maintaining our trees and woodlands.
We are a team of professionals engaged in the management of trees and woodlands which are located on the highway and on 1,250 hectares of parkland. We undertake the full range of tree maintenance work to specified standards whilst complying with Health & Safety, COSHH and other appropriate regulations.
Working within specialist teams and under the guidance of a Team Leader, you’ll work across the city and frequently beyond, undertaking tree work at a range of sites including parkland, woodland, the highway, and domestic gardens.
You’ll be able to start at 7.30am and when required work outside of normal working hours including providing emergency cover for out of hours. You’ll be able to work outside in all weathers, anywhere in the city and wear PPE where appropriate.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll undertake tree work operations, including work at height, operating specialist machinery and equipment, planting, pruning, and felling operations, often in difficult locations. You’ll apply chemicals such as herbicides as and when required. In compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental protection, you’ll ensure tree work is carried out to recognised standards. You’ll undertake duties efficiently and effectively to ensure a high standard of customer service is achieved. You may be required to cover the operational Team Leader during absences.
What you'll need
With appropriate NPTC/CS Unit certifications, you’ll have experience of practical tree work operations including aerial work. You’ll be able to work without close supervision, use your own initiative as well as work well in a team environment. As a highly safety conscious individual, you’ll understand the principles of Health and Safety relating to practical arboriculture and be able to apply them in the day-to-day tasks. Using good literacy and numeracy skills you’ll complete relevant paperwork, and ensure records are accurate and up to date.
A full driving licence is essential, while an HGV licence is desirable.
