Based at the Adult Education College in the Skills for Work team, you’ll be required to travel around the city visiting schools and nurseries across the city to assess the practical element of the qualifications.
This is a part-time, term-time, permanent position working 18.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll ensure that assessment and internal quality assurance processes reflects current good practice and meets the needs of Service and Awarding Body expectations. You’ll provide thorough feedback whilst supporting learners to prepare them for employment or career progression. You’ll maintain a record of assessment as well as support with portfolio building. You’ll monitor learning and provide training on workplace practice either on a one-to-one basis or within a classroom setting.
What you’ll need
In addition to excellent communication, interpersonal and administrative skills, you’ll demonstrate previous experience of assessing Early Years and Teaching Assistant competencies within a workplace environment and have the relevant occupational experience that comes with it. You’ll have a good understanding of complex learning needs, support requirements and the impact that this has on learners progress. Able to work on your own initiative and unsupervised, you’ll have excellent organisation and record keeping skills. You’ll be able to relate to a range and variety of people to establish a good rapport with adult learners.
You must have Assessor Awards D32/D33 or A1, Verification Qualifications V1 or TQA, a relevant subject qualification minimum Level 3 and a level 2 English qualification.
