There are two Full-time, Permanent positions, working 37 hours a week from Monday to Friday. Usually based at City Hall, the team are currently working from home with occasional office and court attendance as and when required.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide high-quality legal advice on all aspects of child protection and represent the Council on matters relating to child protection work. You’ll manage a reasonable caseload of public law childcare and pre-proceedings cases, working collaboratively with the team to ensure best practice. With your learned coaching skills, you’ll support less experience members of the team to assist with their development and learning. You’ll conduct your own advocacy, where appropriate, and represent the Local Authority at Court hearings providing tailored legal advice to council officers.
What you'll need
As a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive, you’ll be entitled to practice. With strong experience and knowledge in Child Care law, practice, and procedure, you’ll ensure the provision of quality, client focussed and cost-effective legal services. You’ll have excellent communication skills to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships and working effectively in a team. You’ll have a willingness to undertake advocacy, be pragmatic, talented, and proactive in your advice.
