Working closely with the Portfolio Manager and other officers, you’ll identify and define business requirements, develop ideas, and deliver improvements to our services and systems.
Predominantly working from home, you’ll have the flexibility to work from our office base at City Hall. This is a full-time, fixed term post until March 2024, working 37 hour per week from Monday to Friday.
We will consider this vacancy on a secondment basis for Leicester City Council employees. If you wish to apply for this post on a secondment basis then please ensure you have your line manager’s approval before applying.
What you’ll be doing
Assisting in the development of business cases and implementation plans, you’ll identify and make recommendations about risks, issues, benefits, and requirements. Working with colleagues, clients, and people who draw upon support, you’ll investigate business functions, processes, information flows and data structures. Using business improvement tools, you’ll apply methodical and consistent techniques, to undertake thorough analysis. You’ll attend and often chair meetings to present issues and solutions. You’ll specify and document business requirements ensuring traceability back to source, and challenge positively when required.
What you’ll need
You’ll have a proven track record of working on programmes and projects, with experience of business process analysis and re-design to delivered successful improvements. Using well-developed communication skills, you’ll be confident in liaising with people to articulate their needs, as well as produce and present complex information and reports to mixed level audiences. Highly organised, you’ll be able to work under pressure whilst remaining flexible in your approach. Demonstrating a systematic, analytical approach to problem solving, you’ll be able to provide effective, practical, and creative solutions that introduce positive change.
