We take pride in providing a clean, safe environment for our visitors. Working in our friendly and dedicated team. Undertaking, care taking and cleaning duties at the Jewry Wall museum. You’ll maintain high standards of health & safety, hygiene and cleanliness, and customer service under the direction of the Building & Facilities Manager.
Hours can vary due to business needs but on average you’ll work four, three hour shifts every week between approximately 7am and 10am - shifts will include alternate weekends and bank holidays. Working in a team of staff, you’ll work on a rota system. We are a growing service and are expanding and we are looking for staff to support us with both our current and our upcoming projects.
What you’ll be doing
On a day to day to basis, you’ll complete a range of cleaning activities internally and externally, including toilets and associated facilities, shower and changing areas, to BICSc standards using basic tools and equipment. This will include;
You’ll complete all cleaning activities with high levels of care and attention and minimise risks of damage to exhibits, objects and display items.
In addition, you’ll monitor the condition of the building and exhibitions, services, fixtures, fittings, furniture, and equipment, reporting problems and assist with repairs and re-decoration where required, under the supervision of management. Undertaking a range of caretaker duties including assisting with the physical set up of exhibitions, unloading and distributing incoming goods, moving, setting up and maintaining equipment and furniture, fire alarm tests, confidential waste disposal, etc.
Maintaining records of work done or required, including undertaking Health and Safety inspections and compliance-related tasks.
What you'll need
With knowledge of health and safety regulations you'll be able to use and maintain cleaning equipment including vacuums. In addition, you'll have experience of cleanliness and hygiene. Having experience of porterage, stores duties, cleaning, care taking or similar work.
You may also have experience of minor maintenance work and experience of building security tasks.
