This is an exciting opportunity for a creative catering supervisor to join the team that manage the award-winning White Boar Café and the café at Jewry Wall. You will be based in the multi-award-winning King Richard III Visitor Centre and/or the soon to open Jewry Wall: A real Roman experience.
This is a part-time, permanent post working 30 hours a week. You’ll be able to work flexibly to accommodate business needs, which will include some evenings, weekends, and Bank Holiday working. The King Richard III Visitor Centre and White Boar Café and Jewry Wall: A real Roman experience and the Jewry Wall Café (once re-opened) are open to the public every day except Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, New Years Day, and for twelve days in January each year for essential maintenance.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be one of two Catering Supervisors who are responsible for the overall health & safety, hygiene, and stock management within the cafés. You’ll be responsible for creating and developing the café menu and ensuring all activities and budgets in the café are managed effectively and efficiently. You’ll ensure the team(s) are providing excellent customer service and refreshments to our visitors, which include tour groups, private bookings, and corporate events, with additional catering support provided for large and/or formal events.
What you’ll need
With a proven track record of achieving results and service improvements in a catering role, you’ll have a Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2. You’ll be able to deal with people professionally at all levels and from a variety of backgrounds and to involve their team in creating a shared purpose to help them develop and achieve results. You’ll consistently review and improve performance, reflect seasonal and on trend ingredients in the menu, utilise local produce and regional providers where possible, while maximising the average spend per head and the overall profitability of the White Boar Café and Jewry Wall Café.
